Exploring Holy Week – playdough mats

Exploring Holy Week with a four year old at home means there’s lots of scope for activity and ‘playing the story’. This year T and I have loved using the play dough mats from the brilliant Flame Creative Kids blog. (the boys had a sneaky go when they got home from school too!)

Each day I set out a different one for her to play with. They each show an image with a play dough activity that helps a young child think about the story. Activities include thinking about how people feel, praying or exploring aspects of the story.

There are mats to explore the events of: Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, Gethsemane, The Crucifixion, The Burial of Jesus and The Resurrection – and they can all be printed off from the Flame Creative Kids blog. Laminate them – get in a supply of play dough and you are ready to go!
