The first 2 weeks of the summer were all about ’50 things to do before you are 11 3/4′ the National Trust’s brilliant campaign to encourage children outdoors to explore and discover. E especially is inspired by this project, both by completing the activity and adding them to his book. It is fabulous to look back at his adventure notebook and see all the amazing things he has been up to. Of course visiting the Lake District and lots of its NT properties was a great excuse to complete a few more challenges. Here is what we got up to. We…..
made Wild Art at Wray Castle.
ate an apple straight from a tree at Erddig
made a trail with sticks at Allan Bank.
picked blackberries growing in the wild at Sandscale Haws. The adventure notebook has a great activity for this challenge – ‘Draw a picture with your fingers using blackberry juice’. We will be borrowing this idea for Harvest at Toast!
(E drew a blackberry bush!)
We LOVE the National Trust!
