Teddy Bears’ Picnic and the water into wine.

It’s that time of year when everything is ending for the summer.Monday was the last of the under 5s group I’ve been working with so we had a Teddy Bear’s picnic. Everyone brought their teddies along to play and they met with the teddies that were already there!!

We shared tea parties and filled the sugar, milk and teapots with sensory rice to add to the experience. And there was a Teddy Bear sensory tub to explore.

As we chose the big toys to play on we tried to make it park like with slides, seesaws and sandpits. We made Playdough cakes and ice creams for the bears and stuck foam shapes onto paper plates to make picnics for them.

And then we decorated cakes for ourselves and sang 5 currant buns in a bakers shop.

Finally we discovered that Jesus loved parties and picnics and that he is amazing – all discovered as we heard the story of the water into wine.
