Focussing on play has made me realise how things have slipped a little with T. We all know the way it is – with child number one you have all the time to give. With G we were out and about all the time and as we came across play prompts we went with them. Now with 3 children, work and freelance stuff things are a little different!!
But on Friday we were walking round a certain supermarket looking for Daddy’s beer – and so I started talking about The Tiger who came to Tea (for those who haven’t read the book he drinks all Daddy’s beer). Soon we were looking for Tigers all round the shop and T was roaring to keep them away (leading to a few strange looks).
Back at home we dug out the book and read it (brilliant book). We found the That’s not my Tiger book and read that too. And then we decided to have a tea party for a Tiger. G has a cuddly tiger who was treated to a lovely feast. T cooked, fed the Tiger and made food for me too.
A fabulous afternoons play – and all because we had taken a prompt for play and gone with it.
