Obvious statement but play is so important for children and for their development. I am a big advocate of play and all that it brings but sometimes think I need to step back, regroup and challenge the way I allow, encourage and support play for my own children, for those at TOAST! and as I work with children’s workers to develop their work.
So for the next few weeks I’m going to do that under the title Playing More. Next week I will be joining the EarlyArts webinar on Clay, Colour and Creating through play. I’ll be going through the archive on The Imagination Tree to plunder that wealth of ideas! And joining the Nurture Stores Simple Play Challenge. (I’m joining in a bit late so I’ll do the ones I’ve missed later!) And playing lots!!
As I go along I’ll post about my discoveries, findings and playtimes here. Let me know of any great play ideas.
