Inclusion

A great day at Liverpool Toolkit yesterday. Hard work but I managed to squeeze in a couple of sessions from the inclusion stream.
Mark Arnold from Urban Saints talked about including those with autism in the groups we run. As a dad of a boy with autism he had an amazing story to share. Great tips around visual timetables, buddying, ear defenders and parental involvement. If you are going to the Hand in Hand conference next week do go to his seminar.
Then I went along to the BSL Messy Church. They are doing some amazing work across Liverpool making Messy Church accessible to the deaf community.
The other ‘find’ of the day was Parachute Bible stories from Through the Roof a great resource for all children.
I’ll be including all this in a piece of work on additional needs I’m currently working on. I’ll keep you posted.
