Yes we are big National Trust fans here and today we went on NT visit number 2 of 2o13. (well minus the odd trip down to Speke Hall!). Today’s was a visit to the fabulous Lyme Park. We first visited in the summer so today took along some friends.
First a visit to the There’s Nuffin Like a Puffin exhibition, lunch and then we all went down to the fabulous Crow Wood Playscape. That play area is amazing! Sand – climbing frames – ropes – tunnels – slides – rocks -bridges and so much more. We had 6 children ranging in age from 7 years to 11 months and they all had a fantastic time. walking across rope bridges, shouting through tubes, jumping down steps, swinging, playing in the sand and just generally doing what kids do best – PLAY.
I love this new breed of play area that challenges and encourages children to explore physically and with their imaginations. They are still few and far between but well worth hunting out.
Ice cream (!) and hot choclatse then we headed home. I had 3 exhausted, muddy but very happy (and hungry) children.
Well worth a visit – we love you NT.
