Tomorrow is E’s 4th birthday party – a Buzz Lightyear party! So my day has been spent getting ready. I love planning the boy’s parties and shaping them to suit their wishes.
As the boys are getting older I’m trying to get them involved a little – today their job was making biscuits for the guests to say Thank You for coming to the party.
We used this recipe from The Primrose Bakery for the biscuits
Cream 85g butter and 100g of caster sugar. Add one beaten egg and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Gradually add 200g plain flour and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Mix well.
Roll the dough out and cut out biscuits (approx 30). Place on a greased baking tray and bake for 10-12 mins (180C)
The boys rolled out the dough and cut out rocket shapes. When the biscuits had cooled they had a great time decorating them and really took on board that these were a ‘thank you’ gift so needed to be special.
We took small white paper bags and used a stamp and silver ink to stamp Thank You on them. The biscuits will go in these and then into the party bags.
Off to bed now ready for tomorrow!
