Easter has been very low key in our house this year (understandably I think!!). So this morning I decided we would head off to the Easter Messy Church at a local church.
It all began with breakfast followed by worship in the main church. Then back into the hall for crafts. Bonnets – cards – bunny biscuits – bunny cakes to ice – baskets – mobiles – and easter gardens. All followed by an Easter egg hunt.
Few learning points from the day.
- If you are having an Easter Egg hunt have non dairy alternatives – (I’m bias as both E and I have a dairy allergy).
- Include more crafts that are intentional rather than just the usual Easter ones.
- Quick and easy way to make Easter gardens – take a piece of oasis and provide lolly stick crosses for the centre. Encourage the children to add cut flowers around it.
- Breakfast is a winner and makes it difficult for young families to ‘be late’!!
So feeling a bit more like its Easter now!
