Advent resources

At Sunday night’s alt worship we looked at a couple of great films for advent and Christmas.

Wait by Kester Brewin is a 12 minute film in which not much happens – you wait. Using the familiar image of a train platform the film challenges your ability to wait and closes with a reflection. Perfect for advent. It was interesting to see how people reacted to this – some loved the time to pause – others were (literally) drumming their fingers wanting to move on.

The second film was Silent Night by Jon Birch. A great cartoon of the Christmas story with an interesting twist at the end.

Both are available from the Proost website (about £1.99 to download) and you will also find the ‘companion’ film to Silent Night – Noisy Night. That is my favourite and great for using with all ages.
