Apple Day

Yesterday we celebrated Apple Day – it’s really apple day on the 21st October but most places have opted for activities over the half term weekend. We visited the Lake District Visitor Centre – Brockhole to share in their Apple Day activities. Again it was a great reminder of keeping it simple.

The boys played Apple Target – throwing (rotten) apples into containers marked with different scores. We hunted round the grounds on an Apple Hunt to find pictures of apples. When we had 5 we returned them to the desk and received a prize in return. S had a go at the Longest Peel competition – 110cm was very good but not quite good enought to beat the 181cm someone had managed! We made our own sketch books and badges and looked at the display of honeys. Lots of simple straight forward activities but they had the boys hooked all afternoon.

With another picnic and a play in the soft play area it was another great day.
