There was great excitement in our house yesterday when a box of sheep arrived in the post! (knitted not real – thankfully) Everyone taking part in the TOAST! nativity trail will recieve a knitted sheep to keep as a reminder of the Christmas story. A busy band of knitters have been knitting a gorgeous array of sheep since the summer. They are an amazing range of sizes, shapes and colours (the sheep not the knitters!) and are now all in gift bags ready to go to all taking part.
All this is linked into the Messy Nativity Sheep Trail taking place across Liverpool City Centre this Christmas. Ten sheep are hidden across ten shops in Liverpool One, a quiz sheet encourages people to find out the sheeps’ names. It’s all been organised with Liverpool One by Messy Church (www.messychurch.org.uk) and Liverpool Mother’s Union (www.liverpoolmothersunion.org.uk). There is much more information on the Mother’s Union website.
So if you are in Liverpool this Christmas pick up a trail from the Information Centre. Once you have completed the trail you can tear off the answer sheet and post in a prize draw box. The piece of paper you’re left with includes a nativity colouring sheet and a telling of the Christmas story.
